It's a New Year...Now What?

The holidays are over, the family is back to their normal routine (work, school, activities). Now what? Everyone views the new year as a chance to start over and make drastic changes in their lives. Anything from joining a gym, to deciding to start a family. The reality is that God give us an opportunity to change our lives EVERY DAY that he allows us to open our eyes each morning. So what does that mean to you?

JUST BECAUSE ITS A NEW YEAR DOESN'T MEAN CHANGE IS NECESSARY:

Lets look at it this way. You may have decided to change you life in October and things are going great! There is no need for you to jump on the NEW YEAR , NEW ME bandwagon. You decided to change your life on your terms and most impotantly when God said it was time.

NO NEED TO ANNOUNCE WHAT YOU ARE CHANGING IN THE NEW YEAR:

Many of us feel that if we share our new year goals, it will make us more determined to achieve them. For some that is the case, but for many, it adds unnecessary stress and pressure to prove people wrong...so I say shut up and let your results speak for themself. Trust me, people are watching and will notice the changes you have made or are making without you saying a word and thats the best feeling in the world.

MAKE SURE THE GOALS YOU SET ARE FOR YOU:

As humans, we often want to look good to others, hence all the social media posts about the new things we buy, our relationship statuses and our family accomplishments. All of these things are wonderful and should be shared but come on, why are you really sharing these special moments with people you only know through your computer? Many of us set our new year resolutions according to what others say and think about OUR life. For example, when are you going to get married, have children, buy a home...the list goes on. As I strolled through my IG and FB pages I lost count of how many people got engaged. Why now? What changed from last month? All I'm saying is "do YOU boo". Don't fold to the pressure, because those same people applying the pressure may not be there to help you if it falls apart.

IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT:

Change is good, but growth is better. If what you have been doing whether its at your job or in a relationship, keep it going. Your goal should be to grow in that area not completely change it because its a new year.

REFLECT BUT DON'T DWELL:

The new year is a great time to reflect on the past year. My advice to you is refelct on all the things that went right and leave all the things that you feel went wrong behind. Tomorrow is not promised, so thank God for allowing you to see and new year. This alone should be evidence that God has great things in store for you! Won't He do it!

HAPPY NEW YEAR LMBB BABES! LETS MAKE 2016 GREAT AND DON'T FORGET TO LIVE BLOUNT -ly!
