A Letter To My Husband

As a husband you are truly the one God kept for me, one of my best decisions and the one who captured my heart! You my dear are part of the reason I am who I am today and for that I am truly grateful. You taught me about TRUE love, sacrifice and strength. You are a great example of what a husband should be. Of course you are not perfect, none of us are, but you are perfect for me. You have taught me that I don’t always have to live in fear of the unknown and that it’s ok to not have all the answers to everything life throws my way. You showed me that it was o.k. to order steak when we go out to eat and that a good steak is worth the money…LOL You are one of my biggest cheerleaders when it comes to going after what I want and my greatest motivator when I feel like giving up. You comfort me when friends have let me down, you carry me when I become weak and you stand by me in times when I need to be strong. I love your quiet strength and you make me feel safe in the most uncomfortable places. I am so glad you have strong shoulders because you carry a lot on them, plus they sexy too (wink).

As a father I love the way you nurture, love and support our children, heck you do it for kids who are not even your children. From our home, to the football field, to the classroom, you set them straight when they start to get off track. Just one look or word from you and they know the deal. You are an inspiration and motivation to everyone you come in contact with. I love how open, playful and dedicated you are to our children and I know they appreciate you for that.

As a son I saw how you made sure that your mother was taken care of when all she had was you. I see how much you love her because you carry that love over to me and our children every day. I know she is so proud of the man you have become because everything she taught you stayed with you…even her great cooking which I am truly thankful for LOL You try your best to keep your promises to her no matter what negativity is thrown your way. This is so important because it sets a great example for our children about the importance of family and how sometimes it can be a struggle to keep the family unit strong but we must persevere. Family is everything!

As a brother I see how loyal and dedicated you are. You truly are your brothers keeper. I see your passion for making sure you uplift your brothers no matter the sacrifice. You dedicate your time and resources to make sure that not only you are represented in the best light but your brothers are as well. In my eyes you are the true definition of what a brother should be and anyone who has the privilege of calling you brother should feel beyond blessed.

You are the backbone of our family and I’m blessed that God saw fit to place you here. You are an amazing man, husband, father, son, brother and friend. Don’t let anyone make you feel any differently. I love you and thank you for always being there and…
